Classic diner looks and feels like a moment in time. The food was good homestyle cooking that's good for anyone. Our waitress was so pleasant and helpful. My two kids split 3 pancakes and the waitress prepared their plates with each a pancake and a half, so thoughtful of her.

Breakfast is an American staple to me. A good breakfast beats any meal of the day. That's why I don't say this lightly, "The Silver Skillet" invented breakfast! We arrived early, so we had to wait a bit, but a line was already forming outside. What were we getting into I thought. Once the gate opened and they let us in, we jumped back to the roots of Atlanta. Old school tables, floor and bar, were visible to all. The restaurant was packed within minutes, but the staff was ready. They worked together to get coffee out. When it was time to order, I wanted to try everything. Starting off with some southern conversation as she then took our order. It didn't take long for the food to arrive. It was hot and the smell alone made me hungry. But what I wasn't prepared for were the grits! They tasted the way my mom made them. They were incredible. That with the biscuits and sausage, made me remember being eight again eating breakfast with my family. This place was special. After, they dropped the check and asked us to pay at the counter. They took Apple Pay, so that was fortunate and forward thinking of them. I may come here again, there's more items on the menu I want to try.

The silver skillet was dressed up for the holidays today. The inside was allot smaller than I thought it would be, cozy with all the chatter and a happy staff. My waitress has been working here for 23 years. So needless to say my entire experience from start to finish was great. The scrambled eggs and a chewy grilled pork chop stopped this from being a five star review. But because of the experience, ample parking and a good price this place still deserves another try. I'll get something new along with a Charleston chew from the counter.

Food 10/10 Vibe 10/10 Staff 10/10 I've driven by this essentially my whole 31 years of life and finally stopped in this past Saturday bc our normal breakfast spot was packed. There was no wait , we ordered pretty quick and the food came out within 10-15min. The menu has plenty options ! I'm going back again soon

Five star diner that checks all MY boxes. I especially love the feeling of stepping back in time. I enjoyed my corned beef hash, but my wife's fried pork chop had too much breading. Overall a great spot to grab some grub and I would return again and again if I were in the area.

Exactly what you think of when you think "old-timey classic diner". Lots of history on the walls and besides that, you can tell it's been around and been loved. And add me to that list of people that love it. Food is delicious and it feels cozy inside while eating. A great way to start your day.

I adore the Silver Skillet!! There's also plenty of parking in the lot next to it so that is a rare win for an Atlanta restaurant for sure. Luckily, for small groups they have a decent number of 2 seaters so we were seated pretty easily but it's a popular spot, so expect a wait for sure. The inside is super vintage and it's cool to see all the memorabilia on the walls. Service is quick and the waitstaff is always so nice. On my most recent visit, my friend and I split an order of French toast, and then each of us got the Super skillet omelet with either toast and grits or biscuits and gravy. The eggs were cooked well and I loved all the veggies. My grits and toast were super buttery and delicious. Overall, always a solid breakfast spot!!
